R. Don Cowan Fine & Performing Arts Center
The UT Tyler Cowan Center in the City of Tyler is the focal point for performing arts on campus, as well as in the city of Tyler and the Northeast Texas region. It houses state-of-the-art lecture and performance facilities to include Vaughn Auditorium. Jim and Bonna Bess Vaughn Auditorium comfortably seats 2,000 patrons in a warm acoustical environment. A full Broadway-sized stage includes a hydraulically-controlled orchestra pit floor which may be raised for concert use, or lowered for musical theater productions.
UT Tyler faculty and staff can request the Vaughn Auditorium and/or White Lobby using Astra. Quick video tutorials can be found here.
Registered student organizations need to request space through Patriots Engage. Patriot Engage Training Video Tutorials are available if needed. Video tutorials to Navigate Scheduling Grid in Astra are available as well.
Community members are welcome to request the Cowan Vaughn Auditorium for concerts, large conferences, graduations, etc. Please contact Paula Jimenez at pjimenez@uttyler.edu.
Community members can utilize the White Lobby or Green ROom for smaller meetings, lunceons, intimate dinners, etc. For more information, please contact eventmgmt@uttyler.edu.
